What you’re not hearing about Hurricanes Harvey and Irma

Industry publication Pharmaceutical Commerce published an article September 7 about how the pharmaceutical supply chain functions during natural disasters.

Since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2009, new safeguards and solutions have been implemented to continue to provide necessary medications and lessen the suffering of victims.

For example, the article reveals that, before and after Hurricane Harvey and later during Hurricane Irma, pharmacists were able to connect with a national online resource to report their operational status.

The story, written by Pharmaceutical Commerce editor Nick Basta, also mentions how WDSrx made pro-active decisions to transfer products between two of our facilities in Sugar Land, TX and Boca Raton, FL to maintain deliveries throughout both storms.
