Pharmaceutical 3PL Provider Selects ROC IT, TraceLink and Optel Vision For DSCSA Implementation
Boca Raton, FL (August 22, 2016) — WDSrx, a pharmaceutical 3PL provider based in Boca Raton, FL selected ROC IT, TraceLink and Optel Vision to assist with the transition to comply with requirements in the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA). The law requires all companies within the pharmaceutical supply chain to develop an electronic system designed to increase patient safety by minimizing drug diversion and reducing counterfeit products. The FDA set a compliance deadline of November 2017 which WDSrx anticipates completing by March 2017. Pharmaceutical manufacturers that do not confirm their supply chain is DSCSA-compliant before the deadline risk affecting patient health and may face regulatory penalties.
“As a Third Party Logistics (3PL) provider that also has active packaging lines, WDSrx is making a considerable financial investment to transition our packaging operations, distribution centers, IT infrastructure, training and quality assurance to meet current and future DQSA/DSCSA requirements,” according to WDSrx President Adam Runsdorf.
The WDSrx Information Technology team is responsible for the overall program implementation and integration with the WDSrx Footprint ® Warehouse Management System (WMS) by Datex Corporation. The WDSrx Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs Department will be deeply involved in training and documentation during this process.
“WDSrx fully comprehends the urgent nature to DSCSA compliance and the impact on the entire pharmaceutical supply chain, as evidenced by their proactive plan to maintain full operations during their transition to serialization,” said Shabbir Dahod, president and CEO, TraceLink. “We are pleased to work with WDSrx to build a comprehensive, integrated track and trace program by leveraging TraceLink’s proven solution and pooling our collective industry expertise to achieve superior results in a short timeframe, in order to comply with DSCSA well ahead of deadline.”
