WDSrx Engages with Industry and Government to Promote Business Growth

Jaime Varela, Legislative Correspondent for Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) meets with WDSrx Marketing Director Larry Hotz August 28 in Washington, DC

At WDSrx we streamline the supply chain between treatments and patients.  This mission is accomplished inside and outside our facilities.

Our logistics teams at our seven warehouse locations in Florida, Ohio, New Jersey and Texas focus on assuring the correct orders reach the authorized recipient at the proper time.

The work outside our facilities includes outreach to existing clients, new prospects, professional organizations and elected officials to exchange information about creating and maintaining a favorable business climate in the pharmaceutical logistics industry.

During the Total Store Expo in Boston, MA from August 24-26 organized by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), the WDSrx team scheduled multiple client meetings to discuss service levels, potential issues that may affect satisfaction and new services and capabilities.

The Specialty Pharma Association organized their Regulatory Seminar in Washington, DC  August 27-28 to provide updated information for pharmaceutical manufacturers about Federal legislation affecting the industry including antitrust cases, FDA and DEA policies and procedural changes.  The WDSrx marketing team participated in the program to provide perspective of pharmaceutical 3PL companies.

While in Washington, DC, appointments were scheduled with Federal elected officials in Ohio and Florida who govern districts where WDSrx facilities are located.  This provided an opportunity to personally meet with staff of Congressman Ted Deutch (FL-22), Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Senator Bob Portman (R-OH) and promote topical issues of importance to a strong business environment for the pharmaceutical industry.  Topics discussed included drug importation from Canada, changing the Controlled Substance Schedule classification for marijuana, the CREATES Act designed to speed the availability of generic medications to market, infrastructure and resilience improvements, autonomous vehicle policies and support for BioOhio and BioFlorida initiatives.

Engaging directly with clients, prospects and legislators helps WDSrx communicate more effectively with these important groups and provides valuable intelligence to continuously improve pharmaceutical logistics services that support growth.
