WDSrx Boosts Vitamin Destruction

Destruction Process
Commercial dumpsters separate waste from dietary supplements before arriving at an Authorized Recycling Facility.

Support for product recalls and withdrawals is an important function of the WDSrx Reverse Logistics department. In addition to these services, the skilled team also manages regulatory compliant product returns and destruction.

A prominent national manufacturer of dietary supplements required WDSrx to manage the destruction of expired inventory according to regulatory guidelines.  WDSrx Reverse Logistics Manager Bryan Flores developed the plan that involved the safe disposal of the expired supplements and also arranged for the recycling of the corrugated boxes and cartons.

Technicians from the Reverse Logistics department carefully removed bottles from cartons and placed them into separate commercial dumpsters commissioned exclusively for the project. The receptacles were transported to authorized recycling centers and the empty containers returned to WDSrx until project completion.

“Manufacturers require reverse logistics to solve multiple supply chain challenges,” according to WDSrx Reverse Logistics Manager Bryan Flores.  “From recalls and bulk returns to disposal of non-regulated or hazardous materials and destruction or recycling, our department helps assure compliance with regulations that help manufacturers avoid unnecessary delays and costs to their operations.”
