WDSrx joins with industry partners to organize an annual event providing solutions to challenges within the pharmaceutical supply chain.
The event is called scwish:pharma. To pronounce it correctly, say ‘squish:pharma.’ The event name stands for SupplyChainWishes because we attract industry experts with answers to hard-to-solve issues.
Held for the second consecutive year at the picturesque Waterstone Resort and Marina in Boca Raton, Florida, the program attracted 70 registered guests who listened to 23 speakers in 15 sessions over two days in November.
Each event recognizes an individual or organization with the Healthcare Champion Award for streamlining the supply chain between treatments and patients. The 2019 honoree is John Quelch, Dean of the Miami Herbert Business School at the University of Miami. Dean Quelch writes extensively about patient empowerment and the impact of consumer behavior on the healthcare supply chain.
An important focus of every scwish:pharma is the community service session that supports a local healthcare-related organization. A conversation early in the year with Ann Costanza of Contract Pharmacal Corporation (CPC), a scwish:pharma sponsor, resulted in making contact with Eagles’ Haven, a wellness center supporting the Parkland, Florida community recovering from the tragic mass shooting in 2018 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Guests were privileged to learn from a therapist and a parent about ongoing services helping students, teachers, families and community members to regain confidence and trust. A $2,000 donation from scwish:pharma program and CPC was presented to Eagles’ Haven for them to continue their valuable work.
As WDSrx Marketing Director Larry Hotz mentioned during closing remarks, scwish:pharma accomplishes three objectives – professional development, social interaction and community involvement, while most industry events achieve fewer goals. It is this commitment to excellence that distinguishes scwish:pharma as a preferred event for operations, marketing and compliance professionals within the pharmaceutical supply chain.
