Boca Raton, FL (November 15, 2019) – The fear is unpredictable and recurring for  many in the Parkland community still reeling from the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, 2018 when a gunman killed 17 people and injured another 17 individuals.

To support the efforts of Eagles’ Haven, a wellness center in nearby Coral Springs, Florida created solely for the ongoing health and wellness needs of the MSD community, the scwish:pharma organization presented a $1,000 check to the center’s Assistant Director Halle Solomon.  A matching $1,000 donation from Contract Pharmacal Corporation was also presented.

The donations, totaling $2,000 were presented during scwish:pharma, an industry event for professionals in the pharmaceutical supply chain industry.  Solomon discussed ways in which Eagles’ Haven provides free year-round crisis support to MSD students, teachers, alumni and families plus art and music therapy, meditation sessions, aromatherapy, creative arts and physical fitness classes.

A parent of a current middle-school student at Westglades Middle School, located immediately adjacent to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, spoke during the session about the trauma her child and family continue to endure from the tragedy and the many benefits they receive from participating in programs offered at Eagles’ Haven.

“We advocate for students and families who continue to experience trauma from the events of February 14, 2018 and help them to reach a place where they interact positively in their academic, personal and professional lives.  This donation will help Eagles’ Haven continue to provide necessary services,” states Solomon.

“It is important to continue to shed light on the need for ongoing financial support of organizations like Eagles’ Haven so they can continue their important work,” commented Adam Runsdorf, President of WDSrx – Woodfield Distribution, LLC, a Boca Raton-headquartered logistics services provider and Chair of scwish:pharma.  Matt Wolf, CEO of Contract Pharmacal Corporation, added “We are committed to improving lives with our products and this donation to Eagles’ Haven reinforces our mission to support people in need of assistance.”
