Boca Raton Life Sciences Industry Gathers At WDSrx To Foster Collaboration and Opportunity

City Council Member Robert Weinroth (l) and Boca Raton Mayor Susan Haynie (r) with WDSrx President Adam Runsdorf at WDSrx headquarters to promote Boca Raton and the local life science industry.

Boca Raton, FL (May 25, 2017) – Boca Raton Mayor Susan Haynie spoke to a group of local and regional life science professionals this morning to highlight the city’s appeal to companies in the healthcare and related fields.

Over 50 participants took time from their mornings to hear from Haynie and WDSrx President Adam Runsdorf over breakfast before taking a tour of the 70,000 square foot facility dedicated to pharmaceutical third party logistics and value-added services.

The healthcare industry in Florida comprises 1,100 biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device companies.  To illustrate the impact of WDSrx within the pharmaceutical supply chain and the local economy, Runsdorf stated that during a typical day over 800 packages containing 14 million dosages are shipped from the Boca Raton, FL facility to 530 zip codes traveling over one million miles.

According to Runsdorf, the local life sciences community is unique because of the willingness of companies to cooperate and collaborate with each other to build businesses together.   The audience which included healthcare professionals from local universities, financial institutions, manufacturers, start-ups, support services and other suppliers, was equally supportive. “The variety of services provided by WDSrx and their dedication to exceed client expectations makes them an exceptional anchor for the Boca Raton business community as they build their reputation around the country and internationally,” stated Neil Weiss, Managing Director of Mass Mutual Financial Group, based in West Palm Beach, FL.

Visitors toured the secure facility and learned about WDSrx services including warehousing and distribution, reverse logistics, transportation management, packaging and labeling, financial services, customer and physician communications services.

The event was the first of several networking programs organized through the Boca Raton Office of Economic Development focusing on leading companies in various commercial industries.
